How thankful are we that modern lighting enables us to view the intricacies of buildings at night? Lighting extenuates sculptural features not readily noticed during daylight hours. Of course, this also applies to nearby trees! Acrylic painting by Janice Lyall

All weathers, all seasons, all times of day and night. The magnificent building is a wonderful, 3 dimensional canvas to reflect the atmosphere and current environment. After the rain, before the pools of reflective water evaporate, colours sing out! Watercolour painting by Janice Lyall

The crypt was not designed to flood, but nowadays it often does in Spring. I am obviously not the only person attracted by the possibilities of reflection in the still waters! There are numerous, fabulous pieces of artwork installed within Winchester Cathedral awaiting visitors.  Watercolour painting by Janice Lyall
